August 12-13, Nan Shan Zhi Shang and Australian Wool Innovation Limited jointly organised the 3rd Nan Shan Australian Wool Forum & Golf Invitational at Riverside Oaks Golf Resort in Sydney, The forum invited Australian wool industry practitioners in various fields and outstanding enterprises in the textile and fashion industry to attend.
Since the first Nanshan Australian Wool Forum was held in November 2017, Nanshan Zhishang and Australian Wool Innovation Limited (AWI) have achieved a number of cooperation results and won praise from both inside and outside the industry. The third Wool Forum this year provides more opportunities and a broader exchange platform for promoting the cooperation between China and Australia wool industry.
The forum was opened by AWI's Senior Wool Trading Consultant, Mr Scott Carmody, The forum was attended by Mr Jianmin Song, Supervisor of Nan Shan Group and Chairman of Nan Shan Australia, AWI CEO Stuart McCullough and Michael Edgar, CEO/ General Manager of Hill Shire Council, the local government, as well as nearly 150 wool industry participants from across Australia.
"If you are good to the sheep, the sheep will be good to you!" Mr. Song Jianmin quoted this common saying of Australian herdsmen, and expounded the origin and future development direction of Nanshan Zhishang and Australian wool industry in his keynote speech. He mentioned that as a wool fabric and clothing manufacturer, it hopes to trace good products back to the source and establish a direct relationship with herdsmen, which is the original intention of holding the wool forum.
Nanshan Zhishang hopes to provide customers with the feeding and activity of each sheep through the Internet and scientific pasture management. Promote the top-grade wool of high-quality pasture to consumers and establish brand promotion of pasture. The success of the wool Forum in the past two years has made Nanshan Zhishang confident to build the annual wool forum into a grand event of the wool industry and a carnival of herdsmen.
AWI Chief Executive Stuart McCullough highlighted the importance of wool technology products and quality traceability. In recent years, Nanshan Zhishang has worked closely with AWI to achieve breakthrough development in the field of wool innovation. The outdoor wool technology jointly developed by both parties was awarded one of the top ten innovative technologies in China's textile industry in 2017.

The ultra-fine wool series launched by Nanshan Zhishang can be as thin and comfortable as cashmere products. It is not only applied to high-end men's suits and high-end fashion women's dresses, but also can make close-fitting home clothes, bedding and even underwear. The application of wool in high-end luxury clothing and outdoor sportswear, as well as the functional finishing of wool to achieve wrinkle resistance and machine washable wool, have made more and more consumers know and like wool. Wool products are also favored by downstream garment manufacturers because of their environmental protection characteristics. Nanshan Zhishang realizes wool innovation with practical actions, and also realizes the value enhancement of Australian Merino wool.
During this period, the exhibition platform included finished products of wool raw materials provided by Nanshan Zhishang, including new wool coats, sports and outdoor wear wool products including Addidas sneakers, as well as wool jackets heated with USB port, which made guests see the fashion, technology and design sense of wool clothing.
It is worth mentioning that Modarte, the high-end customized brand of Nanshan Zhisang, set up its first flagship store in Barangaroo, Central Business District of Sydney in May this year, becoming a window for Nanshan Zhisang to enter the overseas customized market.
This year's forum invited startups related to the wool field to join, injecting fresh ideas and blood into the industry and enriching the imagination of traditional wool practitioners.
The Panel Discussion, moderated by AWI Global Editor Lisa Griplas, pushed the forum towards a period of reflection and reflection on the wool industry.
AWI CEO Stuart McCullough, Johnson Lobban, brand director of MJ Bale, a famous Australian men's wear brand, and Cleto, fabric designer of Nanshan Zhishang Mr. Barberis explained the current market and development status of wool garments from the perspective of end customer demand and fashion design. Michael Jackson, Managing Director of AWTA, Mark Denton, Managing Director of Business Development at AWH, Michael Avery, Senior wool trading Consultant, and Tom, Operations Manager of Wool auction Plus Rookyard dissects the current state and future of wool sweaters in the current economy. Finally, Danny Picker, Chairman of the Ultra-Fine Wool Pastors' Association, and AWI Director Don Macdonald shared with pastors the latest developments in sheep raising and shearing and their expectations for the market.
During the competition, golfers in the Wool industry put on Wool vests and hats made of Air Wool, and set off for the Bungool Golf Course, one of the best Golf courses in Australia. On one side of the tee, the players were greeted by a handful of cute Merino sheep, soaking up the winter sun with thousands of kangaroos.
Mr Sung Kin-min and Mr McCullough presented the Nan Shan High Quality Wool Award to Cluny Farm in Tasmania. "Nanshan High-quality Wool Award" is selected by Nanshan Zhishang from thousands of pastures every year. High-quality wool can only be grown in beautiful pastures.

After that, the organizer organized a question and answer session and charity auction, which made the dinner climax one after another. Like last year, this year's charity auction raised nearly 10,000 yuan for Beyond Blue Charity Fund, which supports herding families in need.
